Derrida is a hardcore band from Finland.
Sep 11th, 2010 | News: New EP is ready
Derrida's new EP is now recorded. We are currently looking for a record label to release the EP. What we are looking
for from a label is cultural awareness to start with, an underground-based approach that puts music
before hit singles, but also decent, honest work and proper distribution. If the following description rings your bell please contact us.

Derrida will record an EP during the spring. Six new songs are ready and like one our friends said: "Derrida is not getting younger but older and dirtier". The music is still good old hardcore punk with metal twist. If you are interested in releasing an EP from Derrida don't hesitate to contact us.
We will be playing a gig at TVO's Lopunajan festivaali on 17.04.2010. TVO has been the most important venue for all kind of underground action in Turku (FIN) durings over fifty years. After 31.5.2010 there will be no TVO anymore. The underground venue is gone and it will be place with a bike cellar instead. Situation really suck but we are glad that we have an opertunity to perform at a funeral of TVO.
Touko did wonderful job by updating our biography. You can read brand new biography
here
I started an blog which can be found from the address:
http://truesweetcore.blogspot.com/ The blog is in Finnish language but there are and will be audiovisual material for you to enjoy.

Oct 17th, 2007 | News: Line up changes
We now have a new guitarist named Juuso. Petri is not playing with
Derrida anymore. Sometimes lineup changes are unavoidable.
Three weeks before our mini tour in Northern Finland Petri called me
and said that he is not able get to the tour because of work-related issues.
He also told that it's impossible for him to get a a two-week vacation on
January when we planned to go to Europe (the tour is now moved
forward). Neither was he able to get on our European tour on May
2007 so it was quite obvious that his work and the band life didn't mix
together well enough. I said that it may be better if we find
a new guitarist who is able to join our tours and play gigs as often it is
necessary. Petri agreeded. I told Petri that I would contact him later after I had talked with the band. I never did. The excuse was that the same day Petri called me I got a letter which said that I got in to the
University of Turku. So I had to find a home from different city in a
month. Later Petri heard that he isn't in the band anymore from his
girlfriend who had heard it from our drummer Ville. I was planned to
call Petri but too much happened too fast. I am sorry about that.
To the gigs in Northern Finland we got help from Juuso.
After a couple of gigs we found out that the chemistry between him and us worked and that he knows how to play his stick. He also learned the songs fast which was really important since we practice so seldom. Later we decided to take him as a full member of Derrida.
We'll miss Petri's sarcastic black humor and his delightfully cynical
attitude. Since the reasons concerning Petri's departing were more practical than personal there was no big drama behind all of this. We want to wish everything good to you Petri.
You did a wonderful job on our forthcoming record. Let's drink
more Russki Standard together in the future.
We also welcome Juuso to the band! You all have seen Some Kind
of Monster -documentary so you know how difficult it is to find a new band member.
We also offered to Juuso a million dollars just to make sure he
feels comfortable in the league of Derrida.

March 28th, 2007 | News: Few days after Russian tour
We would like to thank our manager Kirill for everything that he did for us. The tour was fucking awesome. I have never seen such an audience as in Russia. There are lots of pictures from the trip which I will put online after I get them from Ville. I will also be doing some sort of tour report from the trip.
About Moscow gig:
I heard theat I had been beaten up in St. Petersburg. That is not true. The situation was that one guy in Moscow had taken too much booze or drugs and he was dancing a very violent dance when we begun to play. We had no problem with the guy until he jumped on the stage and disturbed our playing. I dont know what his intentions were and I really dont care. That guy was very fast thrown out from the club by the audience and we had one of the greatest gigs there. One time that guy tried to come back but he didnt succeed. There is nothing special in a situation like this. It could have happened anywhere else. People in Moscow should not blame theirselves. We had a great time and we really enjoyed the show. It was one of the best we ever had. Thank you for it.
